When the Obvious Escapes You

Yeah, finding out that we were retards was one of the more interesting things we did yesterday. Uber had flaked before with randomly shutting off (We're pretty convinced it was the hard drive since we haven't had problems since), and just figured whatever we did didn't fix the problem. After all we had two hard drives on it, and one of them is still in her. We just removed the main hard drive, made the slave the mater, and gave it a slave. ..... boy does that sound screwed up. Anyway it's amazing what you can find out when you actually bother to pay attention.

Anyway in other news I've been fighting with my calendar, since I'm currently too lazy to write a script that will allow me to dynamically update everything. SOOO I took advantage of an iframe. However, as usual, I ran into a snag. How do you name the parent so that you can put a target=x and have it open in the parent frame that you've named x. Yes, well I knew the answer, I really did, but I'll be damned if I could remember it. So we start the search. After digging through piles of stuff I don't want I find the answer. DUH target=_parent. Imagine this (please note the sarcastic tone). I tell you it's too often that the obvious completely escapes me. I even went so far as to ask three people at work, who all gave me the, "I know this, ooo ooo I know this.... umm I can't remember." look.

Either way, problem solved. Huzah. I have just made my life easier. JUST for that I wanted to give a special props to Web Alley. You came through in my hour of need, and didn't make me go through how parenting and HTML are associated.... because to me they're not. Children are not written in HTML, but the web browsers tend to think so. Even with the search field in "Naming Parent Frames using HTML" in quotes.

Silly

Just to let people know...if anyone has found our little haven Yet. UberComputer is ok. Seams we had a power Surge and the Power strip did its job. AND how did I not notice this. Cause Cloud-9 was on it too and of course Cloud-9 was still working.

Until I went to move my website to the new server and noticed I couldn't get cloud-9 to power up. Meaning my battery Died.

Don't I feel Dumb. Usually I do honestly. but Off to Cause peoples inner geek to Squeek.

Sillyness reminder that no one is perfect.
